Percussion Ensemble

The Furman
University Percussion Ensemble is made up of both music major
percussionists and non-percussionists, as well as non-music majors.
Rehearsing for an hour and a half once a week during the winter and
spring terms, the percussion ensemble presents several performances
during the course of the year, culminating in a concert on campus at
the end of spring term. This concert is always a popular and
well-attended event. Membership in this ensemble is a requirement
for percussionists majoring in music.
The ensemble
performs a wide variety of repertoire, ranging from popular landmark
pieces from the traditional percussion ensemble repertoire,
orchestral and chamber repertoire, ethnic percussion repertoire, popular tunes, and new music.
